Welcome

Welcome to our website.  We hope you find it informative and interesting and a valuable insight into life here at Westleigh St Paul’s.

At St Paul’s we are passionate about learning and growing in a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment.

Our Christian ethos encompasses all aspects of school life shown in our mission statement.

We provide the children with lots of opportunities for first hand experiences to enhance their learning, and strive towards all children making progress according to their abilities.

Our learning challenge curriculum enables us to do this in a creative meaningful way.

Above all, we believe that learning should be fun and if you visit our school, that will be evident by the smiles you will see on the children’s faces.

Our motto is “Working Together, Playing Together” and this is something staff, children, parents and governors believe in, resulting in a happy school where children can reach their full potential!

11th May 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

Last night the Prime Minister addressed the nation with an update regarding Covid-19, and the steps government are planning for the next phases.

Boris’ speech appears to have left most of us with more questions than answers, but things may become clearer in the coming days once the guidance document is released.

For now, my focus has to be on the plans for schools and how that impacts us at St. Paul’s.

At the moment, for us in school, there is no change. We will continue to provide care for those parents whose work is critical to Covid-19, and home learning for all our other pupils.

We have not received any information to support us with the plan to start the phased reopening of school yet. We expect we will receive further information from the Department for Education shortly, hopefully with some clarification of what this will look like in practice.

I need clear guidance on how to reopen safely for all members of our school community, and please be assured there is no way we will reopen until we are completely prepared and ready.

I will continue to keep you informed, but for now try not to worry and carry on as you have been, helping children with their learning and supporting each other.

Finally, to clarify, (I want to be clear, not like Boris!) at this moment in time nothing has changed or will change until we can plan effectively a safe way forward for the children, staff and their wider families.

Much love to you all and stay safe,

Mrs Hankinson

About Us

St. Paul’s has a huge history in Westleigh having been around for over one hundred and fifty years!

At the present time there are 205 children on roll, and children are taught in classes no more than 30. We are very lucky to have a dedicated team of teachers, ably assisted by teaching assistants in every class. We provide a high quality education for all the chldren in our care, including children with special education needs. St. Paul’s has strong links with the Church, and act of worship is held in school each day. As well as this, we enjoy attending Church for special occassions and festivals. St Paul’s also has strong links with the community and we liaise well with local businesses to enhance the children’s learning.
